Clients I Work With
Do you feel like you're easily overwhelmed, not good enough, or feel like a burden on others? Perhaps you ruminate on fears of the future or dismiss your needs so that you don't lose relationships. I work with people who are struggling with anxious thoughts, chronic illness and/or pain, and symptoms related to previously traumatic events and experiences. These can show up as overwhelming emotions, fears of abandonment, or physical and emotional shut down. Many of my clients are living with a chronic illness and trying to navigate the loss of a pre-diagnosis life in the hopes of gaining a better understanding of a post-diagnosis identity.
Approach
I help people struggling with anxiety, people-pleasing, and disconnection find clarity, relief, and a sense of self. I offer a supportive and collaborative approach to our work together, grounded in curiosity, connection, and compassion. Through a trauma-informed lens, we’ll work to understand the root causes of your struggles—gently exploring the ways your nervous system has adapted to stress and pain over time. In practice, this looks like slowing down and exploring, identifying, and understanding the role your emotions and thoughts play on nervous system activation, stress, and pain. I integrate somatic experiencing, parts work, and other body-based approaches to help you reconnect with yourself, process what’s been too much to hold alone, and begin moving toward relief, clarity, and more choice.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
I understand the emotional complexity of living with an unpredictable body. As someone who also lives with a chronic illness, I know how difficult it can be to navigate emotional overwhelm, physical symptoms, and the invisible weight of simply getting through the day. I also believe that you are the expert in your own life. I understand that the best marker for change comes from the therapeutic relationship. Because of this, I aim to build a strong connection with my clients so that they feel seen, comforted, and supported. Change happens through feeling valued and feeling a sense of belonging. I constantly strive to make the therapeutic space a welcoming place for my clients to feel valued, supported, and accepted.
More About My Practice
I provide trauma intensives for deeper, more focused work in a quicker timeframe. Trauma-focused therapy intensives are a more focused approach to healing. An intensive may be a fit for you if you find your sessions feel too short and feel that you don’t quite get past the surface of issues or struggles; or if you have time constraints, responsibilities, or changing schedules that make it difficult to commit to weekly sessions. Unlike traditional talk therapy that can jump from the ‘topic of the week’, intensives stay centered around the target issue to resolve unhealed issues and generate lasting change in a shorter time period.
