Clients I Work With
I see adults and most of my work is within these three categories: 1.) relationship concerns, 2.) sexual issues and 3.) neurodivergence, most often Autism and ADHD. Sometimes we're addressing all these topics at the same time. My clients may also seek my help for family relationships with siblings or parents. I tend to work with people who are resourceful and inquisitive and who have run out of their own ideas for addressing their concerns.
Approach
I have been doing this work for many years and use an array of techniques and methods, but those can only help once we get to know one another. You will form an impression of me and decide whether I seem to be a sensible person. It may take some time to sort out how much you could trust me with your inner thoughts and emotions. Our task is to identify the purpose of therapy, what you want us to accomplish together. It's OK if you're not sure about this yet or don't have the words for it; as we get acquainted, we sort it out. I'd let you know my ideas on how to achieve the changes you're seeking. You bring your background and preferences and self-knowledge and we see how we can understand things together. I can provide a lot of practical skills and suggestions if you wish. Most of all I want to help you listen to yourself, or your partner.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
I arrived at my specialized areas of practice after gaining over 30 years of experience, so I have worked with many types of problems by now. I continue actively studying and I also regularly train and supervise other therapists. I am Autistic and a lifelong learner. This trait gives me a broad knowledge base and vocabulary, as well as attention to detail.
