Clients I Work With
The typical clients I work with are usually insightful, self-aware, and high-achieving in many areas of life. When so much of life seems to be going “right,” it can feel confusing or frustrating to experience feelings of inadequacy, emptiness, feelings of hopelessness or helplessness, difficulties with emotional regulation/processing, feelings of anxiety, loss of interest in things once enjoyed, feeling “burned out,” sleep disturbance, and/ or difficulties within relationships. I have extensive experience in working with therapists, emergency medicine physicians, and firefighters.
Approach
I strive to create the conditions of safety and trust within the therapeutic relationship, so that deeper change can occur, beyond symptom reduction. My hope is that during our work together, you can begin to live your life free of the patterns and beliefs from your past that are holding you back from the life you want, and sustain those changes long after our work together is complete. I utilize elements of cognitive, existential, systemic, mindfulness, and compassion-focused therapies. I regularly participate in advanced trainings and consultation to continue to enhance my skills and grow, both professionally and personally.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity.” -Pema Chödrön
