Clients I Work With

We work with adults who are high-achieving on the outside and quietly unraveling on the inside. Many are navigating complex or intergenerational trauma, grief, identity shifts, and the kind of anxiety that looks like ambition until it doesn't anymore. Our clients tend to be self-aware, driven, and a little tired of surface-level answers. They've often tried therapy before and left feeling like something was missing. They want depth, not just coping skills. We specialize in adults carrying old wounds into new chapters, including immigrants, first and second-generation Americans, Jewish individuals, and women navigating high-pressure lives. If you've ever felt like you're holding too much and can't quite name why, you're probably our people.

Approach

Depth-Oriented Psychodynamic Psychotherapy We don't just talk about what's happening. We talk about why it keeps happening. This approach looks beneath the surface, at patterns, old wounds, and the parts of yourself you may not fully see yet. It's slower, more curious, and honestly more interesting than symptom-chasing. Pulled from Carl Jung. EMDR Therapy: Some experiences don't respond to talking alone. EMDR helps the brain reprocess stuck memories so they stop running the show. It's structured, evidence-based, and often surprisingly powerful for people who've already done a lot of talk therapy. Skills Integration (CBT & DBT): Sometimes you need tools, not just insight. We weave in practical strategies for managing overwhelming emotions, changing thought patterns, and getting through hard moments without burning everything down. Experiential and Art Based Modalities as needed.

Beliefs & Lived Experience

I'm a Jewish immigrant woman to 2x immigrant parents, who came to this work because I needed it first. I am a wounded healer. That matters. I don't sit across from clients as someone who has it figured out. I sit with them as someone who knows what it's like to carry inherited pain, to straddle cultures, to achieve outwardly while something quieter asks for attention. My training is rigorous, but my orientation is human. I believe therapy should challenge you, not just comfort you, and that real change lives in the places we're most afraid to look. I bring my full self to this work because I think that's the only way it actually works. I am passionate about generational trauma and writing my doctoral dissertation on the Cultural Complexes in the Russian Speaking Jewish Community: Looking at how Soviet Antisemitism impacts first generation Russian Speaking Jews.

More About My Practice

Sunray Psychotherapy is a depth-oriented trauma practice serving adults in California, Florida, Virginia, and Idaho, I work alongside three talented associates who share the same clinical values: thoughtful, trauma-informed, and never surface-level. We built this practice around a simple belief: that the people who show up to therapy deserving the most nuanced, rigorous care are often the ones who get handed a coping skills handout and sent on their way. That's not what we do here. Our work is slower, deeper, and oriented toward lasting change rather than symptom management. Clinically, our team is trained in depth-oriented psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, and integrative trauma approaches. We work with complex trauma, intergenerational trauma, anxiety, grief, identity, and the particular exhaustion that comes from holding too much for too long.
