Clients I Work With
My clients struggle with addictions both substance and behavior (gambling, porn, shopping), unhealthy patterns that lead to stressful relationships and lives. Our addictions, troubling behaviors, toxic relationships and harmful patterns come from trauma. I focus on working with folks who’ve suffered trauma through relationships, childhood experiences, and the justice system.
Approach
I understand that our brains develop ways to survive the worst of humanity, we find a way to live through what should destroy us. However, at some point those survival skills may no longer offer safety or comfort. When that happens, we work together to find a way out of survival mode, a way towards thriving.
Every person is unique, with their own preferences and needs. So I have developed a large toolkit of options including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing, Attachment theory and many others.
