Clients I Work With

Anxiety often begins as your brain’s attempt to keep you safe. This instinct helped humans survive danger long before modern life existed. But when the anxiety response stays switched on too long, it can leave you feeling exhausted, stuck, or overwhelmed. For people with anxiety disorders, this can look like panicky thoughts, intrusive worry, avoidance of situations, or fear that feels hard to control. Anxiety isn’t a sign of weakness – it’s a sign that your mind is trying to keep you out of harm's way. I also work with those with sexual challenges- low libido, pain, erectile dysfunction and help you express your desires and needs. I work with those in perinatal and postpartum periods- these huge life changes impact all areas of your life, including work, relationships, rest (or lack thereof), free time, and you may benefit from space to process this transition and get support.

Approach

First and foremost, I want you to feel heard and accepted. Everyone has a story to tell and I feel honored to hear yours. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindful self compassion to support people in relating differently to their thoughts, feelings, body and behavior to support you living a life of meaning. What do you want written on your tombstone? Are you living that way now? If not or if can be more values based, let's get you there... together.

Beliefs & Lived Experience

As a queer anxious mom of a neurodivergent kiddo... I have been there (or at least my version of "there.") I have felt burnt out and shifted towards a life of vitality. I do this through my own mindfulness practice, yoga, exercise, journaling, reading, and being supported in community.

More About My Practice

I utilize evidence-based practices of Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) including trauma-focused (TF-CBT), mindfulness, and Mindful Self-Compassion. I have been in the field since 2010, working with county contracted agencies as well as for-profit companies, and now my private practice. I have been a manager and clinical supervisor supporting the next generation of therapists in honing their clinical tools.
