Clients I Work With
I’m a marriage and family therapist who works through a systemic and attachment-based lens, exploring how past and present relationships shape how we experience ourselves and others. Early emotional environments teach us ways to cope and connect, but those strategies aren’t always sustainable. Therapy offers a space to explore and reshape those patterns.
I specialize in working with couples and new parents navigating disconnection, communication challenges, and identity shifts. I also support individuals, adolescents, children, and families in learning to move through emotions rather than around them, building confidence, resilience, and secure connections.
Approach
My approach is rooted in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and other attachment-based practices, honoring the healing power of emotions and relationships. At its core, these theories believe that we are innately wired for connection as humans, but sometimes have difficulty understanding how this need shows up and how to reach for close others.
Therapy with me will be non-pathologizing, empathic, client-centered (meaning I let clients take the lead and believe you are the expert in your own life). I start from the assumption that all behavior makes sense given previous wounds and that we tend to protect ourselves against the fear of not being accepted. My approach is systemic, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive - I believe people learn how to handle their emotions based on culture, world view, and environment, which can ultimately impact their connection with others.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
I strive to create a collaborative, non-judgmental, and emotionally safe space where all parts of you are welcome. Whether you’re processing a difficult past or feeling stuck in the present, therapy can help you reconnect with your capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful connection. I am sex-positive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and neurodiversity-informed, honoring the ways identity, family systems, and culture intersect in our emotional lives.
More About My Practice
A lot of the work I do with clients is helping you see patterns that you get stuck in, so I am often paying attention to where this pattern might be showing up and reflecting it back to you, especially as it relates to how you do or don't handle emotions. I might also ask you to pay attention to your emotions in the present moment and how you experience them in your body.
Reaching out for help takes a lot of courage and can feel extremely vulnerable. My number one priority is to ensure that clients feel safe and understood, which is vital to exploring and understanding emotions.
