Clients I Work With
I have 30 years experience as a therapist. I love working with couples; therefore, I obtained my CGT as well as Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) . I work with couples on the brink of divorce as well as couples healing from betrayals, and couples simply wanting to communicate better and be more connected to one another. I work with same sex and heterosexual couples, young and older. I find joy in helping couples see patterns that have become their problem and help them change their own behaviors preventing them from getting what they need. It is truly a remarkable, collaborative experience each time!
Approach
I use 90 min extended sessions as research show that more work is accomplished with a longer session time, therefore more progress is made more quickly as well. I also do intensives which are 2 days of incredibly rich work when couples need longer time to work thru difficult situations. I believe couples work is best when the therapist is not neutral, but assists is waking the couple up to the truth of their situation and how each person contributes in creating patterns which are detrimental to their connection. I use a mixture of information gathering, tools, education, and experiential techniques to get couples to a new place where they can repair and reconnect in a healthier manner.
