Telehealth Availability:
I meet with clients via telehealth on weeknights (afternoon/evening). Clients must be located in the state of California during the appointment times. My detailed availability shifts as client schedules shift, so it's best just to reach out so we can see if our calendars line up!
In-Person Availability:
I see clients in-person on weeknights (afternoon/evening) in the Monrovia/Arcadia area (150 N Santa Anita Ave, Suite 800, Arcadia, CA 91006). My detailed availability shifts as client schedules shift, so it's best just to reach out so we can see if our calendars line up!
Clients I Work With
I work with teens and adults who are ready for something to change. Often, people start therapy because anxiety or trauma are intruding and making it hard to live life they way they want to: things like panic, fear, avoidance, or emotional overwhelm are getting in the way of connecting and experiencing life to the fullest. My clients are insightful, purposeful, and inspiring. I feel so honored to hear others' stories and walk alongside my clients as they seek healing! Therapy is vulnerable work, and it takes bravery to step into it.
Approach
I typically start sessions by checking in: How are you? Updates from the week? Priorities for our session today? I follow my clients' lead in focusing the session, as we need different things on different days. Sometimes we are practicing new coping skills. Sometimes I am holding space while clients speak things out loud for the first time. Sometimes I'm offering reflections and questions to help clients untangle themselves from anxiety/OCD loops. Sometimes I'm offering co-regulation so we can engage with "scary" parts of the self, together. Sometimes we're doing EMDR or ERP work together (ask me more about either of those, if you're curious). Therapy can be a lot of different things. I will typically close sessions by asking for reflections on the session and making space for any comments or concerns that arose from our work.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
I became a therapist because I realized that I am fulfilled and energized by working with others and hearing their stories. Along the way, I've done my own healing work as well, and gotten to try out many "tools" through my own lived experience. I believe hard things are easier when we do them together. I believe bringing compassion, curiosity, and presence to all parts of ourselves (and to one-another) creates amazing opportunities for new experiences and for healing. I've seen so much brave, inspirational work during the years working with clients, and feel truly honored to do have a front row seat to healing, feeling, and growing.
Additional Credentials & Training
I have completed EMDR Basic Training, along with the associated consultation hours.
