Clients I Work With
I work with people who are competent on the outside and depleted underneath — the ones everyone else leans on, who rarely get asked how they're doing.
That includes adults navigating burnout, anxiety, grief, big transitions, and the long tail of trauma. Adolescents and young adults sorting out identity, pressure, and family expectations. Parents who want to stay connected to a kid who's pulling away. Families trying to shift a pattern that's outlasted everyone's patience. I also work with people preparing for or integrating psychedelic experiences.
Therapy with me is direct, warm and focused on building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I ask questions, share what I notice, and don't sit behind a blank screen. Most of my clients are used to holding or doing things alone and come therapy so we can figure things out together.
Approach
I don't think insight alone changes much. What moves things is catching the pattern while it's happening — in your week, in your relationships, sometimes right there in session — and getting curious about it instead of critical.
I work relationally and from a trauma-informed lens. That means paying attention to what you learned to do to stay safe, and what those strategies cost you now. It also means we go at a pace your system can actually tolerate; I'm not interested in pushing you into the hardest material to prove we're doing real work.
Sessions are collaborative and often practical. I'll ask direct questions, tell you what I'm noticing, and change course when something isn't landing. My practice is largely informed by attachment theory and systems oriented. I draw on Emotion Focused Therapy, CBT and DBT and adapt to the person in front of me rather than running everyone through the same protocol.
