About this provider

Clients I Work With

I work with adults, couples, and families who want to better understand themselves and the patterns shaping their emotional and relational lives. Clients I work with may feel anxious, self-critical, disconnected, overwhelmed, stuck in recurring relationship dynamics, or unsure why insight alone has not led to change. Some people come to me after years of therapy and self-reflection; others are only beginning to make sense of what they have been carrying. I often work with developmental and attachment trauma, long-standing patterns of shame or over-responsibility, difficulty with closeness, and the impact of early relationships on how clients experience themselves and others in the present.

Approach

My approach is relational, curious, and grounded in the idea that the patterns someone developed make sense in the broader context of their life. In session, we slow things down enough to notice what is happening in the present rather than only analyzing the past. I pay attention to emotion, relationships, the body, and the ways someone learned to protect themself, while avoiding pressure to perform therapy “correctly” or move faster than feels useful. My work is primarily informed by NARM, with additional influence from attachment-focused, somatic, interpersonal neurobiology, and polyvagal-informed perspectives. Sessions are collaborative, reflective, and oriented toward increasing agency rather than forcing change.

Beliefs & Lived Experience

My way of practicing is shaped not only by training, but by my own experience of learning how much we can adapt around disconnection while continuing to move forward. I know something personally about relying on competence, self-reliance, and pushing through while still longing for deeper connection and belonging. Over time, I came to understand these patterns less as flaws and more as intelligent ways of protecting ourselves. That perspective deeply informs how I show up as a therapist. I value authenticity, humility, curiosity, and agency, and I try to co-create a space where people do not have to perform wellness, have the “right” insight, or become someone different in order to be met with respect.

More About My Practice

I offer mostly virtual individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as clinical supervision and consultation for therapists, with limited in-person availability in Durham, NC on Thursdays. I am a Certified NARM Master Therapist and work with clients across multiple states where I am licensed. I also provide supervision and consultation focused on developmental trauma, countertransference, therapist use of self, and the emotional demands of clinical work. My practice is private pay, and I offer a complimentary consultation so we can talk about what brings you in, what you are looking for, and whether working together feels like a good fit.
