Clients I Work With

Couples with relationship distress or wanting to make a good thing better.

Approach

Gottman Couple Therapy. Initial familiarity with this approach by the couple is not required. We focus on identifying existing and needed skills for managing perpetual problems in a non-judgmental manner. Our goal is to practice these skills during sessions so that the same skills transfer to everyday life.

Beliefs & Lived Experience

My assumption is that each partner is doing the best they can. My perspective is compassionate and nonjudgmental. My focus is helping each partner feel heard and understood. To do this I point out what seems to be working well and collaborate with the couple on what my help meet their communication challenges.

More About My Practice

I schedule both traditional and intensive therapy. Traditional is typically weekly or biweekly. Intensive therapy involves a more immediate deeper therapy process starting with multiple daily sessions for a few days followed by monthly follow-up session.
