Clients I Work With

Do you find yourself asking, why can't I stop worrying what others think? Why can't I turn my thoughts off at night? Why do relationships feel disappointing? Why can’t I make decisions? Why am I always tired? I'm here to assure you, you are not a problem; you are the solution! If you are ready to address the cycles you find yourself repeating, imbalanced relationships, toxic families/work environments, struggles with dieting and body image, loss of a sense of self, people-pleasing and perfectionism: I work with women & LGBTQIA2S+ 18 and above, seeking relief from anxiety and/or stress from life transitions (relationships, grief/loss, career, self-worth/identity). You will experience a non-judgmental and very down to earth (laughing, crying, and swearing freely) approach in sessions. Many of my clients report feeling better after their first session, or in the first month!

Approach

Welcome to Empowering Cycle Breakers — where all women, 18 years of age and beyond, actively repair, re-pattern, and reclaim their lives. After nearly two decades working in the psychology of adult learning, Amy McIntosh is following her life's calling to create a safe, therapeutic space for women navigating a variety of life's challenges, identity shifts, and the desire for meaningful transformation. With a trauma-informed approach, she partners with clients to explore new ways of relating to themselves and others, fostering self-trust, healing, and authentic expression. Amy combines her professional training with her lived experience to bring both depth and compassion to her work. Amy believes growth is not just about change, but about becoming more fully who we are meant to be. I’m a trauma-informed, somatic therapist utilizing attachment theory, CBT, DBT & much more.

Beliefs & Lived Experience

This is a space where all of who you are is seen, respected, and celebrated. I honor the fullness of each person I work with—across race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, neurodiversity, ability, body size, socioeconomic background, and spiritual or religious belief. I also recognize that systems of oppression and historical inequities create real barriers and lived experiences that shape our stories and spirits. My commitment is to keep learning, listening, and creating an environment of genuine care where your voice and your humanity matter. Here, you don’t have to shrink yourself or leave parts of your identity at the door. You are invited to bring your whole self, exactly as you are. You’ve spent enough of your life repeating generational patterns & carrying the weight of shame, submission, & silence. Self-work is deeply personal, I’ve been there too!
