Therapists and other mental health providers have an extraordinary amount of knowledge to share.
They have developed specialties, created practice systems, learned from years of clinical work, built local resource networks, and found thoughtful ways to respond to problems other providers are still trying to solve.
Having something to contribute is not the same as having the time to organize it
But having something valuable to contribute is not the same as having the time or infrastructure to organize it.
A provider who wants to give a presentation may have to create a registration page, promote the event, manage sign-ups, set up the technology, and follow up with attendees. Someone who wants to start a consultation group has to find interested colleagues, coordinate schedules, and figure out how to organize the group.
All that extra work can keep good ideas from ever getting off the ground.
Members bring their knowledge, we help with the logistics
That’s where Therapy Expanded can help.
Members bring their knowledge, experience, and ideas. We help with the organization, technology, and promotion so they can focus on what they want to share.
These opportunities give members a way to contribute to the community, connect with colleagues, and become more visible for the work they already care about.
Interactive opportunities make online practice less isolating
Member-led opportunities aren’t just about sharing information. They give providers a chance to get to know one another.
A directory profile can help someone find a provider, but an interactive event lets people ask questions, exchange ideas, and learn more about each other’s work. A recurring consultation group can help turn new connections into trusted colleagues. A state networking meeting can help a newly licensed provider begin building relationships in that state.
Connecting clinicians working alone in online private practice
These opportunities are especially valuable for clinicians working alone in online private practice, where everyday interactions with colleagues can be limited. Events and groups give us a reason to connect and learn from one another.
They also help us bring members together more intentionally. We can introduce providers with complementary specialties, connect people facing similar challenges, and help build relationships that continue beyond a single event.
Lunch & Learns
Lunch & Learns give members a chance to share their knowledge and learn from colleagues. Members can attend presentations on a variety of clinical and professional topics or volunteer to present on an area of their own expertise.
Therapy Expanded helps presenters with event setup, promotion, and technology so they can focus on sharing what they know.
State networking events
Being licensed in a state doesn’t mean you have a professional network there.
Therapy Expanded hosts state networking events to help providers meet colleagues, learn about their specialties, and build referral relationships in the states where they practice.
Peer groups
Peer groups give members a chance to connect around shared clinical interests, professional experiences, or practice challenges.
Groups can meet once or regularly, depending on what members need. Providers can also request a peer group, and we’ll help match them with colleagues who share their interests.
Guest blog posts
Members can contribute articles to the Therapy Expanded blog, sharing their professional knowledge, experiences, and perspectives.
It’s an opportunity to help other providers learn something new while introducing a wider audience to your work and expertise.
Monthly marketing meetups
New monthly marketing meetups bring providers together to talk about the business side of private practice.
Members can share what’s working, ask questions, discuss challenges, and learn from one another.
Supporting member opportunities
The idea behind these opportunities is to create a supportive professional space where mental health providers can learn from one another and share their expertise.
Independent providers have a great deal of knowledge and experience to offer. Therapy Expanded brings members together and handles some of the behind-the-scenes work that makes these opportunities possible.
Providers choose how they want to participate and what they want to share. Our role is to handle some of the logistics so members can focus on contributing, connecting with colleagues, and learning from one another.
