Clients I Work With

In my counseling practice, I help individuals and couples navigate: • Serious, chronic, and terminal illnesses • Caregiving stress and burnout • End-of-life concerns • Identity and role changes • Emotional overwhelm during health crises And I work with couples using the Gottman Method Couples therapy to:• Improve communication • Strengthen emotional connection • Rebuild friendship and respect • Navigate uncertainty as a team

Approach

My Approach For more than two decades, I’ve sat with individuals and families during some of the hardest moments of their lives—moments filled with fear, confusion, hope, and deep questions about identity, health, illness, dying, and caregiving. My goal is always the same: to help them feel seen, supported, and understood as them make sense of what’s happening in their life.

Beliefs & Lived Experience

I have been a medical social worker for 23 years, working in hospitals, hospices, and clinical settings where illness and uncertainty are part of everyday life. I’ve supported individuals and families through serious and terminal diagnoses, sitting with them in moments of fear, grief, and profound transition. I also know these experiences personally. I’ve been a caregiver for my own parents through medical crises and through my father’s death. I understand how overwhelming, disorienting, and emotionally heavy this time can be. Because of this, my work is rooted in compassion, steadiness, and presence.

More About My Practice

I am licensed to practice in Virginia, DC, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, Alabama, and Louisiana. I provide online counseling through a secure, HIPAA‑compliant platform designed to protect your privacy and help you feel safe during every session. Meeting online gives you the freedom to schedule appointments without worrying about traffic, travel time, or weather—making therapy more accessible, especially when life already feels overwhelming. All communication happens through a confidential client portal, where you can send or receive messages, complete paperwork, and schedule or cancel appointments at any time of day. My goal is to make therapy as easy and stress‑free as possible, so you can focus on your healing rather than the logistics.
