Approach

My approach to therapy is warm and playful. I have lived experience of chronic illness and childhood trauma. I bring both experience and knowledge to the therapy room. I am certified in EMDR and have found it helpful in my own life. I do believe the mind and the body are very much interconnected and you can’t heal a body. You hate. Together we will learn to have more awareness of our body and treat it with kindness and compassion as we work through your trauma. I love learning new information and I’m constantly reading books and listening to podcasts and pass on what I’m learning to my clients. Although I can be warm, I also have a New England directness about me and will ask tough questions where I feel it’s appropriate to nudge you along in your healing journey. I have Hashimoto’s and I’m a recovering perfectionist. I love learning about and working with these folks.

Beliefs & Lived Experience

I believe the mind in the body are interconnected. I believe a lot of trauma work is done when we address attachment wounds. EMDR has been pivotal to me on my healing journey. I have tried all the things you can think of with auto immune disease, supplements, elimination, diet, protocols, the only thing that move the needle for me was EMDR. I truly believe stress lips in the body and love helping people work through their trauma to find their way to more self compassion. You can’t heal body you hate. I show up with compassion, kindness, and a little bit of humor because life doesn’t have to be serious all the time. I’m a curious person by nature and I love learning.
