Telehealth Availability:
At Alafiora, Telehealth sessions are available across all licensed states via a HIPAA-compliant platform. Scheduling includes early morning, evening, and weekend availability by appointment, preserved for clients with demanding professional and personal lives. Self-scheduling is available so clients maintain control over their appointments as life shifts around them. Flexibility is a feature of this practice, not an exception to it.
In-Person Availability:
A client's natural environment offers greater clinical richness and context than any office can. Sessions are therefore available virtually or on location within licensed states and in environments the client chooses. On-location and intensive sessions, including full-day arrangements, are available following intake and are coordinated individually with a specific fee structure based on session length, travel, and scheduling requirements.
Clients I Work With
At Alafiora, Dr. Lapite-Garrett works with clients where everything feels out of control, and these individuals can see themselves moving toward the edge but cannot stop. For some, this has meant slipping out of the office to meet an escort, initiating sexual contact with a colleague or subordinate they know could cost them everything, or spending thousands on escorts and sex dolls with relief that lasts less each time. For others, it has meant a consuming, one-sided devotion to someone who may barely register their existence, a person who has gone silent while the longing only intensifies. Some have stopped engaging with people altogether, bonded to an AI companion that requires nothing and cannot leave, finding real human contact unbearable by comparison. Others are caught in trauma reenactment, pulled into situations that mirror what was done to them, not by choice but by a nervous system that has learned to find danger familiar. Alafiora specializes in working with these individuals and in helping them slowly, meaningfully begin to press the brakes.
Approach
A client might arrive having spent the previous week texting someone who has not responded in days, recount walking out of a board meeting because the pull toward a sexual encounter felt impossible to override, or admit they have not spoken to another person in months because nothing outside their fantasy relationship feels worth the risk. Many carry shame about what they have done or consented to, and some have spent so long feeling that choice was never truly available to them. Dr. Lapite-Garrett builds choice into every part of the work. Clients decide the pace, whether a session moves toward the presenting behavior, the emotional pattern underneath it, or the original wound driving both. Regulation comes first, for the body and for the mind, so that deeper processing has a solid foundation to land. Coping skills, psychoeducation, harm reduction, urge surfing, moderation support, and exposure work are woven in throughout, always matched to what is actually effective for that specific person rather than applied from a standard protocol.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
At Alafiora, Dr. Lapite-Garrett believes that LGBTQ+ identities deserve to exist without justification, modification, or clinical suspicion. That sex work is a profession for some and a survival strategy for others, and that neither version requires an apology before care can begin. That compulsive behavior does not need to be eliminated to be brought under a person's own authority and control. That family is whoever has shown up consistently, regardless of biology. That loving more than one person is a legitimate relational structure, not a presenting problem. That wealth does not protect anyone from profound suffering, and that the legacies families have built across generations deserve the same protection as the individuals carrying them. That shame and punishment does not produce lasting change in a human being and will not be used here, subtly or otherwise. That a person's worst moment, the one they cannot stop returning to, is not the most complete or most true thing about them. Those beliefs are the foundation that this practice was built on.
More About My Practice
Alafiora operates on a private-pay basis. Superbills are available for clients pursuing out-of-network reimbursement, and the practice accepts victim compensation funding and organizational vouchers as accessibility pathways. Standard session offerings include a 50-minute session, a 110-minute extended session for material that requires more room to unfold, and a 25-minute clarity session for focused clinical contact. Session format and frequency are otherwise flexible and determined by clinical need and symptom acuity. Concierge-level retainer arrangements are available for individuals requiring more continuous access and support. In-person and on-location sessions are available within licensed states, including travel to the client when circumstances require it, with applicable travel fees. Prospective clients may begin with a complimentary 20-minute consultation for those with questions about fit, or move directly into a full intake session where the therapeutic relationship and the peerless care may begin.
