About this provider
Clients I Work With
I work with adolescents and adults who may look like they’re handling everything on the outside while internally feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or unsure of what comes next. Many of my clients are navigating trauma or PTSD, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship challenges, major life transitions, career uncertainty, identity concerns, or the emotional and physical changes that can accompany menopause.
I’m especially well suited for clients who want more than a place to vent. You may want to better understand why you think, feel, or respond the way you do, recognize patterns, learn practical tools, and be appropriately challenged along the way. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin exactly where you are and work together to determine where you want to go.
Approach
My approach is warm, authentic, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood while also being supported—and sometimes challenged—to look at patterns, beliefs, and behaviors differently. I use an eclectic, evidence-based approach tailored to your needs, goals, personality, and learning style. Psychoeducation is an important part of my work because understanding the “why” behind what you’re experiencing can make change feel more achievable. I often use handouts, exercises, and practical strategies you can take beyond our sessions. Therapy with me is a partnership: we’ll explore your experiences, identify patterns that may no longer serve you, build on your strengths, and find tools that work in your actual life. You can expect authenticity, curiosity, humor, and a comfortable, nonjudgmental space where you can simply be yourself.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
With 14 years in community mental health, I’ve worked alongside individuals and families navigating trauma, loss, relationships, major transitions, and challenges that don’t always fit neatly into a diagnostic box. These experiences shaped one of my strongest beliefs: behavior makes more sense when we understand the story, environment, relationships, and experiences behind it. My MS in Criminal Behavior/Forensic Psychology and MSW further shaped how I understand people within the systems around them. I believe you are more than a diagnosis or collection of symptoms, and therapy should help you understand the “why,” not just manage the “what.” One phrase I often come back to is, “You only know what you know until you know, you know.” Therapy gives us the opportunity to stay curious, discover what we didn’t know before, and decide what to do with that knowledge moving forward.
More About My Practice
Haven of Healing for Youth & Families is a welcoming space for individuals, adolescents, couples, and families navigating life’s challenges. We believe human connection can be a powerful catalyst for change and that healing often begins with feeling genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
Our holistic approach looks beyond symptoms to consider the whole person—their experiences, relationships, environment, strengths, and circumstances. We primarily provide telehealth, allowing you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
Whether you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship concerns, or major life transitions, our goal is to provide a comfortable, nonjudgmental space with evidence-based support and practical tools for moving forward.
Healing begins with connection.
