Clients I Work With
EFT understands distress in relationships as centered in the loss of secure emotional connection. When this happens, a negative cycle or “dance” develops as each partner tries to cope with the loss of connection. In these negative cycles, you may notices you respond with anger, criticism, distancing, silence, or distracting yourself, to name a few common responses. Once established, these negative cycles can crop up over the slightest issue, and over time can be corrosive to the bonds of trust and security in your relationship.
Approach
In your current relationship, are you experiencing any of the following: communication issues, feeling distant, having the same conflict on repeat or feeling misunderstood or criticized too often, I have some solutions. Weekly couples sessions move your relationship forward through experiences in session and in between. You will see improvements throughout the course of sessions.
For more concentrated focus without distractions, The Immersive Couples Weekend experience takes place in Bend, OR which offers a beautiful setting for this kind of work where you take time away from home to breathe, reflect, walk, rest, and be together in a place that supports both focus and restoration. Most importantly, you receive undivided attention from me to get to the root of the matter and get real results in your relationship.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
I bring both professional training and meaningful lived experience to my work with couples. My own life has included marriage, parenting, loss, and medical crisis, which have deepened my respect for the complexity of intimate relationships and the courage it takes to seek help.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in law, a background that helped shape my analytical and observational skills. That experience supports my ability to listen carefully, see patterns, understand multiple perspectives, and help couples identify the blind spots that can keep them stuck.
My work is grounded in a nonjudgmental and compassionate perspective. I believe each person’s lived experience matters, and that lasting change often begins when both partners are willing to look honestly at themselves, take ownership of their part in the relationship dynamic, and remain open to understanding one another more deeply.
Open to thoughtful, reflective couples who value integrity, emotional growth, and the possibility of creating a more secure and connected relationship.
