About this provider

Clients I Work With

You may be someone who pushes through daily chronic pain, even when simple tasks take more effort than they used to. Or perhaps you're caring for a spouse, parent, or family member and have become so attuned to their needs that your own have faded into the background. You may also be thinking about your drinking. Maybe you're looking for ways to support your health as you age, or you've found yourself relying on alcohol to get through hard days. You don't have to be in crisis to consider a change. On the outside, you may seem capable and in control. Inside, you may be carrying worry, grief, frustration, guilt, loneliness, or overwhelm that others don't fully see. You may feel stuck, disconnected from yourself, or unsure how to move forward. Therapy offers a place to slow down, feel understood and create change. Using approaches such as CBT, ACT, and DBT, we'll build practical skills to navigate challenges, manage difficult emotion, and reconnect with what matters most. Whether your goal is relief, balance, or a healthier path forward, you don't have to carry it alone.

Approach

Therapy with me feels more like a conversation than an evaluation. My goal is to create a space where you can show up as you are, talk honestly about what's been weighing on you, and feel understood without judgment. We'll spend time exploring your experiences, but we'll also focus on where you'd like to go and the skills that can help you get there. I often use metaphors and stories to make difficult experiences easier to understand. Sometimes life's challenges can feel like carrying a heavy pack up a steep trail and trying to navigate with an outdated map. Together, we'll make sense of what's happening, identify what's helping and what isn't, and find a path forward that fits your values and goals. We'll work to understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build practical tools for handling stress and difficult emotions, and strengthen your ability to move toward the life you want to live. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to bring knowledge, curiosity, and support as we work together to help you find greater confidence, balance, and hope.

Beliefs & Lived Experience

I believe the qualities that matter most in therapy are the same ones that matter most in life: compassion, respect, curiosity, acceptance, and meaningful connection. As a middle-aged woman and member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I know that our identities, relationships, values, and experiences shape how we move through the world. Some of the challenges I help clients with are ones I've navigated myself. I've experienced the grief of losing my mother to cancer, and I've wrestled with questions about my own alcohol use and the difficulty of making lasting change. These experiences have deepened my empathy for how hard life can be and how much resolve it takes to build something different. I don't believe people are broken or need to be fixed. Therapy is a place to better understand yourself, make room for difficult experiences, build new skills, and move toward a life you want. My goal is to create a relationship grounded in warmth, dignity, and acceptance, where you feel safe enough to be yourself and hopeful enough to move toward the life you want to build.
