Clients I Work With
I work with adults and couples who feel stuck in patterns that are difficult to change on their own. You may be dealing with anxiety, relationship conflict, emotional distance, recurring arguments, life transitions, or the sense that you understand the problem intellectually but still cannot seem to move forward. Couples often come to me when conversations quickly become defensive, withdrawn, or repetitive. I also work with individuals who want to better understand their emotions, relationships, values, and patterns so they can respond more intentionally rather than feeling controlled by them.
Approach
My approach is collaborative, practical, and focused on understanding the patterns that keep problems going. Rather than simply telling you what to do, we work together to understand what happens beneath your reactions and identify ways of responding differently. With couples, this often means slowing down recurring conflicts so each partner can better understand the emotions and needs underneath them. With individuals, we may explore thoughts, emotions, relationships, values, and behavior while developing practical ways to handle difficult experiences. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy, ACT, CBT, and attachment-based approaches while adapting the work to the person in front of me.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
My work is shaped by the belief that people make sense in context. The ways we react, protect ourselves, connect with others, and make decisions usually developed for understandable reasons, even when those patterns are no longer serving us well. I am interested not only in reducing symptoms, but in helping people understand the patterns beneath them—how past experiences, relationships, beliefs, emotions, and current circumstances interact. I also believe insight matters most when it leads to greater freedom and responsibility: the ability to notice what is happening, decide what matters, and respond more intentionally. Therapy, in my view, is not about becoming a different person. It is about understanding yourself more clearly so you can live and relate in ways that are more consistent with your values.
More About My Practice
I provide telehealth counseling to adults and couples located in Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada. I also offer clinical supervision and professional consultation, and periodically facilitate relationship-focused workshops for couples. I use a brief consultation to help determine fit before beginning services. Insurance availability varies by state and plan; current options can be reviewed through my scheduling and practice information. My practice is intentionally small, which allows me to remain personally involved in scheduling, communication, and care.
