About this provider

Clients I Work With

I'm an anxiety specialist, with expertise in generalized anxiety (worry), OCD, panic, illness anxiety, phobias (emetophobia, driving, and more). I treat adults, 18 and up. My approach is a balance between change-oriented and acceptance-based approaches; meaning that we work hard to understand your personal constellation of anxiety symptoms, and then together define a plan to move you toward the life you want to be living.

Approach

Anxiety responds best to a highly tailored approach blending cognitive and behavioral strategies with acceptance & motivation enhancement. What does that ACTUALLY look like? We start by deeply understanding what your anxiety looks like in the here and now - what are you avoiding, what do you worry about, how do you respond to anxiety symptoms when they arrive? Then, we define goals for the short-term and long term. Most often, goals will include things like "reduce the amount of time I spend worrying each day" or "stop avoiding situations that make me anxious". We will learn skills and approaches for you to try, and fine tune them until they become easy to implement and effective in allowing you to live the life you dream of. My core approaches include: Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Metacognitive therapy (MCT) and I am learning Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP) and Inference Based CBT (ICBT) to further broaden my ability to help.

Beliefs & Lived Experience

I'm a wife, mom of 2, and a business owner. I have personal experience with: parenthood without a village, perimenopause, grief & anxiety. I value seeing people deeply, whether that's spending time understanding how you learned some of your anxious habits, or sitting with you as you explore the painful impact anxiety has had on your life; therapy offers a space and an advocate that is entirely devoted to you and your experience. In a world where there is often too little meaningful connection and understanding, therapy can offer a lot of healing.
