About this provider
Clients I Work With
I love working with clients who are desperate to have lasting love in their lives, but feel like they sacrifice their identities just to fit in. I help adults who feel like they have never belonged find the relationships they have been craving. You deserve to feel loved whether you struggle with relationship OCD, cultural or gender dysphoria, LGBTQ+ community drama, non-monogamy isolation, chronic illness, or just straight-up trauma from being told you are too much of a burden to deserve love. Together, we’ll help you find your voice, build relationships where you feel seen, and ask for what you need.
I have a history in queer sex-ed, polyamory counseling, and couples therapy. I have done premarital counseling, relationship OCD, and social anxiety work. I work with the little (and sometimes big) voice in the back of your brain saying you aren't good enough. I'm Asian American, biracial, and third-culture, and utilize a collectivist approach.
Approach
I use a direct approach and tangible application of skills that go beyond just talk therapy and processing. I use ERP, ACT, Narrative, and IFS, among other applications, depending on client needs. If you find yourself interested in working with me, feel free to call or email for a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your goals in therapy.
My values are centered in harm-reduction collectivist systems in which I work with my clients on creating a balance between their individual identities, the communities they intersect with and the systems that directly and indirectly influence quality of life within these spaces. I bring awareness to learned behaviors, unpacking intergenerational patterns and create validation and recognition of what is the self and how it can have the space it deserves while feeling connected and accepted by community.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
I was raised in 5 countries: Australia, Zambia, China, Singapore, and the U.S and moved to America in 2016. My lived experience in multicultural settings as an Asian Queer really shaped my lens on noticing cultural oppression and how it influences systemic oppression in various environments and countries. Combined with becoming disabled in my 20s and navigating American healthcare my rage at the system only grew and I find that empowering others to not give up is my calling.
My work is inherently anti-oppressive in that I will do everything in my power to set you up for building your own systems of collectivist joy in ways that fight the system and are sustainable. I believe in client autonomy and the decision to live your life fully within and without the systems we are trapped in.
More About My Practice
For individual clients, I work with you on really looking at your identities and the role they play in how you move around the world. We examine systemic factors that keep you stuck and your own self-view. Then we look at your relational skills, where you want to be and where you are now, and then create a plan to heal from relational wounds to move you toward genuine connection. I teach you how to stop performing and start practicing real authenticity.
For my couples or ENM clients, I examine the way you and your partner(s)’ identities interact and notice when there is dissonance stopping you from connecting. I provide a unique point of view that helps couples that come from very different backgrounds find systems that work and encourage one another to grow rather than settle for something that feels “good enough”.
