Clients I Work With

You keep having the same argument, or you've been told you shut down, check out, or aren't there emotionally. Maybe you're carrying something you haven't said out loud — an affair, a secret, thoughts you're ashamed of. That doesn't make you a bad person. It makes you someone who needs space to be honest, without judgment. Chronic disconnection has real consequences: crossing lines you never thought you would, or wondering if you want to keep going. Struggling with substance use, infidelity, disordered eating, or thoughts of suicide doesn't mean you're broken. It means the pain has become unbearable. I also work with grief that doesn't look the way people expect: a relationship that ended badly, a loss involving addiction or suicide, or relief, anger, or numbness instead of sadness. Healing means being honest about your reality without worrying about others' comfort.

Approach

I want you to walk away from each session with something concrete you can use. My style is relaxed and straightforward. No therapy-speak, no judgement. Just real, concrete work. I work at a pace that feels safe to you. At times, I will nudge, but in a gentle way that aligns with your stated goals. I blend Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Strategic Therapy, and Humanistic methods to meet you exactly where you are. That means we're not just talking about your problems. We're actively working on them. You'll learn to stop fighting what you're feeling and start understanding what it's telling you, while building skills that actually hold up in daily life. Clients have shared that they felt fully accepted without judgment and that I showed up as a true advocate for them. Not just a neutral observer, but someone genuinely invested in their growth. Clients consistently describe me as thoughtful, present, and genuinely curious about their world.

Beliefs & Lived Experience

I didn't start out as a therapist. I spent two years in the tech industry before realizing I wanted work that felt more personal, where I could actually see the impact on someone's life. That pull led me to graduate school and eventually to the clients I work with today. Early in my training, I learned that some therapists refer clients out the moment suicidal thoughts come up. I found that unacceptable. Suicidal thoughts are common, and suicidal loss is a unique type of grief that touches so many people. I made a deliberate choice early on to be a therapist who doesn't look away from the hard stuff. My own experience managing anxiety is part of what drew me to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. ACT makes a lot of sense to me — it's analytical, adaptable, and works well across very different personal situations. I also trust gut instinct when it's appropriate, and I bring that same balance of logic and intuition into sessions with clients.

More About My Practice

I have found that men especially respond well to my style. I'm straightforward, I give tangible steps to reach goals, and I get straight to the point. I also let clients into my thought process. I might share something I'm noticing and ask if it connects or resonates with them, rather than keeping my observations to myself. I also love creating a space for men to explore their feelings in a society that has traditionally discouraged them from showing emotions other than anger. That kind of work matters to me.
