Clients I Work With

I work with adolescents, young adults, older adults, people experiencing domestic violence, the LGBTQIA+ community, grieving populations, substance abuse populations, couples, families, and complex trauma. Most of my work focuses on complex trauma, OCD and queer populations. As a queer provider, I'm passionate about supporting my community.

Approach

Rapport between client and therapist is the most important factor in therapeutic success. I emphasize getting to know each client in a deep, trusting, and authentic way. Upon building a strong relationship, we will explore evidence-based treatment modalities to facilitate healing and growth.

Beliefs & Lived Experience

After an adolescence impacted by loss and mental health struggles, I began my journey towards becoming a therapist. I started in substance abuse counseling, then built skills in school-based counseling and hospital social work. In private practice, I've completed specialized training and deepened my passion.

More About My Practice

I prioritize collaborative work rooted in compassion. You can expect me to be empathetic and supportive, but not a blank slate. When appropriate, I challenge clients towards growth and reflection by pointing out patterns, uncovering themes, or encouraging deeper exploration. Upon meeting with a client and completing a full assessment, we work together to identify specific treatment goals and a road map towards achieving such goals. Sometimes this includes using evidence-based modalities in session, and other times this includes outside homework, journaling, reflection prompts, workbooks, or articles and books to read. I create a casual and inviting space for our first meeting. I recognize that sharing personal information with someone new can be nerve-racking, and it's my job to facilitate comfort. I'll answer your questions, then spend most of the appointment getting to know you.
