Approach
As a certified Yoga Therapist Saumya utilizes body-based approaches to healing, which can decrease pain, emotional and physical, and trauma symptoms (i.e. insomnia, panic, dissociation, etc.) while increasing acceptance, courage and the capacity to meet life with compassion and choice. She has seen the transformative effects of psychedelic-assisted therapy to radically shift entrenched patterns, beliefs and behaviors, and is honored to support people’s journey in accessing their innate wisdom and healing through ketamine-assisted therapy as well.
More About My Practice
Saumya turned to Yoga in 2002 after struggling with burnout and insomnia herself. She started teaching Yoga in 2004 and has been a Mental Health Therapist and Yoga Therapist since 2007. She was the steward of Rainier Beach Yoga, a studio focusing on resilience and social and racial justice from 2015-2020. Saumya has been offering Resilience Coaching since 2015, and she has been studying non-dual Tantra, Ayurveda and The Renegade Method, an embodied form of self-inquiry, with her teacher, Dr. Kavitha Chinniayan, since 2019. She has been offering ketamine-assisted therapy with Journey Clinical and local prescribers since 2025.
