About this provider
Clients I Work With
You might be at a crossroads: a career shift, a relationship that feels stuck, or a sense that the life you’ve built no longer fits who you’re becoming. Maybe work has worn you down, or you’re carrying a big decision and can’t see the way forward. Perhaps you’re exploring your identity or learning to accept parts of yourself you were taught to hide.
I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating life transitions, relationship and communication challenges, school and workplace stress, burnout, and questions of identity and self-acceptance. Many of my clients are capable people used to holding it together for everyone else and ready for a space that’s just for them. I offer affirming care for LGBTQ+, trans, non-binary, and gender-fluid clients, and I welcome people of all backgrounds.
If you’re stuck, unsure, or ready for change, you’re in the right place.
Approach
Our sessions are a conversation, not an interrogation. I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and help you notice patterns that are hard to see on your own. You set the pace; I offer structure when it helps and space when you need it.
My lens is strengths-based: we look at what’s hard and at what’s already working, then build from there. I draw on CBT (untangling thoughts that keep you stuck), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (living by your values when things are hard), Solution-Focused Therapy (finding practical next steps), Narrative Therapy (rewriting the stories you tell about yourself), and Positive Psychology. Underneath it all is a person-centered belief that you are the expert on your own life.
Expect warmth, honesty, and some gentle challenge. Sessions often include clear goals and something to reflect on between meetings, always shaped around you.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
I believe everyone deserves to be seen fully, without editing out the parts of themselves that don’t fit someone else’s expectations. That belief shapes how I work.
I have a personal connection to the LGBTQ+ community, and that lived experience deepens my understanding of identity, belonging, and self-acceptance. I also know shared identity is not the same as clinical skill, so I pair that understanding with more than 30 years of training and experience across counseling, higher education, and coaching.
I value curiosity over judgment, honesty delivered with care, and the conviction that growth is possible at any stage of life. I’ve spent much of my career walking alongside people through major transitions, and I’ve navigated plenty of my own. I don’t see myself as the expert on your life. I see myself as a steady, honest partner while you figure out what comes next.
More About My Practice
All sessions are by secure telehealth video. I’m licensed in Connecticut, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, and Wisconsin. If you split time between states, attend school in one state and live in another, or are relocating, we may be able to keep working together, as long as you’re in one of those states during sessions. I see clients during weekday daytime hours and accept both insurance and private pay.
For adolescent clients, I partner with parents or guardians on consent and keep them appropriately involved, while protecting a young person’s space to speak openly.
For professionals, I offer paid clinical supervision and consultation for counselors, plus consultation, supervision, and mentoring for coaches, drawing on years of supervising counseling interns and training, mentoring, and supervising coaches.
