Clients I Work With
I work with women in perimenopause and menopause, most often between their late thirties and early sixties. Many are capable people who are privately confused by what's happening in their own bodies. Sleep has become unreliable. Moods arrive without warning. Some have seen several doctors and still have no explanation.
Others come in for reasons that are harder to name. A marriage feels different lately. Work that once mattered has gone flat. If you've been wondering whether this stage of life is behind any of it, that question alone is a good reason to reach out.
I also work with partners of women in the menopause transition. If someone you love has changed and you want to understand rather than guess, this work is for you too.
Approach
Sessions with me feel like a focused conversation. You talk, and I listen closely. Together, we decide what deserves attention first. I use cognitive behavioral therapy adapted for the menopause transition, which means we look at how your thoughts and your body influence each other. Mindfulness comes in when it's useful. So do practical changes to sleep habits or daily routines. We'll also work on quieting your harshest inner critic, which matters more at this stage than most people expect.
You'll leave most sessions with something concrete to try. And I'll be honest with you along the way. If something isn't working, we adjust. My job is to help you understand what's happening in your body and build a life that fits who you're becoming.
Beliefs & Lived Experience
I believe women deserve accurate information about their own bodies. That sounds basic. My own experience taught me it isn't. I spent years collecting symptoms and half-answers before I learned what perimenopause could do, and I did most of that learning on my own. I built my practice so other women wouldn't have to.
I also believe midlife is the beginning. Our culture treats menopause as a decline, and I reject that. I've watched clients leave careers they'd outgrown and build lives with more of themselves in them.
I'm at this stage of life myself, and I bring that with me. I know what it costs to be dismissed. I also know what changes when someone finally takes you seriously. You can expect me to be straightforward. I'd rather earn your trust with honesty than with comfort.
More About My Practice
My practice is fully telehealth, so you can meet with me from home over secure video. I see clients located anywhere in California or Florida.
Alongside individual therapy, I offer sessions for partners of women in the menopause transition, either on their own or as part of your work with me. This stage affects the whole household, and reliable information helps more than guesswork.
Menopause care rarely lives in one office. If you're seeing a gynecologist or another healthcare provider, I'm happy to collaborate with them to keep your care coordinated.
Every new client relationship starts with a free 15-minute phone consultation. It's a chance to ask questions and see whether we're a good fit. I provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement, and my billing manager can answer insurance questions directly.
